Melody Beck performs a tribute to the golden age of movie musicals and to one special voice in particular. She takes the audience on a stroll down memory lane, exploring the incredible life and career of the unseen singer and actress Marni Nixon – ‘the voice of Hollywood.’ Having dubbed the singing voice of luminaries including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Rita Moreno and Deborah Kerr, Marni Nixon became one of the most remembered but unknown voices of the golden age of movies.
Melody has recently completed a double degree in Music Performance and Arts Theatre and Performance Studies from UNSW, an Associate and Licentiate of Trinity College London, as well as her AMusA in Classical singing. Her onstage credits include such shows as Oklahoma, Grease, Little Shop Of Horrors, Reefer Madness, Urinetown, Aida and most recently The Producers.
