Michael Hope

Michael Hope is one of the favourite pianists of the Sydney Opera House Ladies Committee. Michael has entertained at many events over the years.

Michael Hope is a pianist at David Jones,  who wrote that our long-time and immensely talented pianist at our Elizabeth St flagship.  Michael said about his playing at DJs: “This piano really is the unofficial meeting place of Sydney. I’ve been playing at this store for 20 years and it’s incredible how people continue to visit from far and wide to meet their friends and loved ones at my side. Every day I get a new request from customers – they say hello, tell me their favourite song and then go off shopping. It’s funny, women will often park their husbands next to me and leave them there while they wander the store, so I find myself running a daycare for the men.
I’m very progressive in my music taste, I don’t like to play a lot of old tunes. It’s important I stay up-to-date to ensure I can play the music people like. I’ve had to learn Frozen because there have been so many children who come up to the piano to ask me to play it for them! Do you want to sing the chorus with me?”

We can forward requests to Michael Hope.
